Matching Mail Document Tracking Software Solutions
Our document matching solution makes sure the documents that
are stuffed into the envelop are the right ones. If a mismatch is found, the machine is
stopped and the system lets you know what and where the wrong document is
located. Our system interfaces with the
cam to provide an accurate trigger on a new cycle. Our reject output is
directly tied to the emergency stop bar on the machine.
This system was designed to retrofit to the old Bell & Howell or other similar mail stuffing
machines. We use Cognex Insight
cameras to read the datamatrix bar code or OCR
characters into our system. Then we compare that information to the known
records database and track that document from nest to nest. If a 2nd document is stuffed down
the line, it is also tracked to make sure that it goes into the proper
envelop.
If there is a paper jam or a document mismatch, we’ve
included a rework procedure which allows the user to repopulate the envelop
queue manually to start back up without clearing out the entire machine. This is a very user friendly and graphical
based interface to help make this as painless as possible.
We’ve also included a standard Windows interface to control
an HP style inkjet printer to print the correct address and postnet
information onto the outside of the envelop. This interface allows the operator to design
the appearance and what data fields appear on address portion of the letter. The inkjet data is also verified by another Cognex camera.
All of this is performed at a very high speed. The operator interface on the PC keeps
everyone informed of what envelop is where.
The database has a time and date stamp so the % of document matching
accuracy and order fulfillment can be tracked for customer satisfaction.
This tested application uses a bar code scanner or vision system to read the data on the document and track it thru the envelope filling process. The document is verified against a customer datafile and the machine is stopped is there is a no match. Multiple documents can be inserted into the same envelope at different positions and by adding more readers, all of this can be matched.
If necessary, data linked to the document number can be directed to print directly on the envelope and be ready for mailing.
