  • This application uses 3 Microscan MS 890's w/MS Connect 210 and our Windows based software to read Bar codes on a pallet before and after shrink wrapping MS890 Scanner

It all starts with a WIP. The operator scans the WIP ticket which interfaces with their ERP system. This system sends down label data which we intercept and convert to serial data. This serial data gets parsed and the key tracking information is recorded. Before shrink wrapping, the WIP is scanned by a   Microscan MS 890 and connected to the network using a Microscan MS Connect 210 with TCP/IP and a 2 line display. If the data is correct, our program turns on a green light on the stack and lets the operator know the pallet is ready for shrink wrap.

    Main Program Screen
After shrink wrap, the label data is sent to the corner wrap print apply systems. The 4 labels are applied and the 2 side labels are scanned. If the data is correct, the pallet rolls into the warehouse. If the data is incorrect, the conveyor is stopped until the situation is corrected. Scanner Network Options

This solution allows the customer to be able to automate the application of labels to the pallet. It also provides several steps of automatic pallet/label validation to ensure that the pallets are labeled properly. Quality data is also made available as well as operator accountibility.
