Product Label Print Apply

This solution creates a master product label for the product after a serialized product bar code is scanned.  FDA requires strict traceability guidelines for its certified products.  Our solution has the operator scan the product serial number into a text field on the touch screen display. The product is placed in position in the fixture and a unique product label is instantly printed and tamped onto the box.

Flexible Solution:

Our solution has many different rule sets depending on the product configuration.  This allows for many different product lines to run on the same production lines without a major change over. 

Record Retention:

Data files are downloaded at the end of the run and stored for future reference in the event of an audit or recall is required. The floor supervisor is responsible for getting the data from each station to ensure that it is retrieved and stored properly.

Hardware:

We use the Label Mill 3501 printer applicator with the Sato 8400 series print engine.  The Label Mill 3501 print and apply makes capabilities standard that were once custom on printer applicators. More than two dozen I/O points allow for easy integration to scales, bar-code scanners, product diverters, automatic machines, conveyor lines, remote triggers, second trigger for variable data, tamp synchronization, and indicator signals such as low label, low ribbon, printer error, batch done, and more. Selections of several standard features are easy to enter using the touch pad and large, back-lit display. The controller software is user-friendly, password protected, and Y2K compatible. Selectable features include batch counter, job storage of up to ten jobs, operational modes, trigger polarity, and printer status outputs. With more built-in features and capabilities than any other printer applicator on the market, the 3501 sets a new standard in printer applicators.We used cordless Symbol bar code scanners to read the bar code data into the text field.
